Our surgeons are fellowship-trained and are working with local Austin institutions to create a community for neurological research and education.

What is a Neurosurgeon?

The American Association of Neurological Surgery defines neurosurgery as the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders that affect the entire nervous system; including the spinal column, spinal cord, brain and peripheral nerves.  Neurosurgeons are the only physicians who surgically treat the brain and the entire spine. They receive more training, education and experience in brain and spine surgery than any other physician.  In addition to medical school and a seven year residency program, all of our neurosurgeons completed fellowship training programs and obtained their board certification in the field of Neurological Surgery.

Our neurosurgeons complement their education and vast experience with a passion for patient care.  They pride themselves on a compassionate, conservative approach to providing the best patient care possible and work cohesively with other medical professionals to achieve this. Here at NeuroTexas we treat our patients on an individual basis and recognize that sometimes the best treatment is no surgery at all.
